Honda S2000 Dutch Registration Database License plates

What?

A database containing Dutch license plates of the Honda S2000. It shows how many S2000 Roadsters per year, colour, Dutch or Imported, are in the Database. The numbers do not reflect the actual license plates issued for the S2000. It is impossible to trace all S2000 license plates issued by the RDW It is, however, reasonable to say that a minimum number of a certain year and/or colour is registered in the Netherlands. In particular, the number, 362 units of S2000 Roadsters delivered in the Netherlands between 1999 and 2009, comes from Honda Netherlands. The considerable number of imported models that have been given a Dutch license plate is entirely unknown. (RDW about-us)

Wat?
Een database waarin Nederlandse kentekens van de Honda S2000 verwerkt zijn. Er is te zien hoeveel S2000 Roadsters per jaar, kleur, NL of Import in de database staan. De aantallen bieden geen weerspiegeling van de werkelijk uitgegeven kentekens van de S2000. Het is namelijk onmogelijk om alle S2000 kentekens te traceren die door de RDW zijn uitgebracht. Het is wel reëel om te zeggen dat er een minimale hoeveelheid van een bepaald jaar en/of kleur op Nederlands kenteken staat. Met name het aantal, 362 stuks in Nederland uitgeleverde S2000 Roadsters tussen 1999 en 2009 zijn afkomstig van Honda Nederland. De inmiddels aanzienlijke hoeveelheid geïmporteerde exemplaren welke zijn voorzien van een Nederlands kenteken zijn in het geheel onbekend.

 

Why?
There are people who sometimes wonder: what is the purpose of this license plate database? Honestly, it doesn't really have a 'goal'. It is purely aimed at visitors who want to know more about the numbers of S2000s registered in the Netherlands and their color. Despite the fact that the internet nowadays offers a wealth of information, I haven't found a website that focuses on registering numbers. There are certainly registries, but they often focus on a specific brand and/or model. With this license plate database, I try to provide as complete a picture as possible of what is registered in the Netherlands, both NL and imported.

Waarom?
Er zijn mensen die zich wel eens afvragen: wat is het nut van deze kentekendatabase? Eerlijk gezegd heeft het niet echt een 'doel'. Het is puur gericht op bezoekers die wat meer willen weten over de aantallen van de S2000 die op Nederlands kenteken staan en kleur. Ondanks dat het internet tegenwoordig een schat aan informatie bied heb ik geen site gevonden die zich richt op het registreren van aantallen. Er zijn wel registers maar die richten zich vaak op één specifiek merk en/of type. Met deze kentekendatabase probeer ik om een zo compleet mogelijk beeld te geven van hetgeen wat op Nederlands kenteken staat, zowel NL als Import.

Who?
The idea of keeping track of license plates came to me a few years ago, around mid-2006. It actually started during my search for an S2000, initially to compare prices via Marktplaats, Autowereld, Autoweek, and other similar sites. Later, tracking the color and spotting the cars became part of it. Family, friends, and colleagues also became enthusiastic about the database, and later forum members of Honda-S2000 NL and BE, including JPS, J van Leeuwen, Edde, Ichi, Desmo, and Asian Madness. These same people helped shape the license plate database into what it is today, and I would like to thank them for their (ongoing) contributions to the database! Do you fit into this group too? Wie?
Het idee van het bijhouden van kentekens is een aantal jaar geleden, medio 2006 in me opgekomen. Het is dan ook begonnen tijdens m'n zoektocht naar een S2000, in eerste instantie om de prijzen te vergelijken via Marktplaats, Autowereld, Autoweek en meer van gelijksoortige sites. Later is de kleur en het spotten erbij gekomen. Ook familie, vrienden en collega's zijn toen enthousiast geworden over het bestand en later ook forumleden van Honda-S2000 NL en BE waaronder JPS, J van Leeuwen, Edde, Ichi, Desmo en Asian Madness. Diezelfde mensen hebben er mede voor gezorgd dat de kentekendatabase is geworden zoals die nu is en hierbij wil ik hun dan ook bedanken voor (huidige) inzet voor het kentekenbestand!
